Marwan Koukash to guest at Forever Reds on Monday

It’s the Forever Reds Annual General Meeting on Monday 3rd June at 7.30pm in the press room at Salford City Stadium. This is a member only meeting in which some of things a Supporters Trust legally has to do will be attended to.

Following on from the business part of the evening, at 8pm in the main Fans Bar at the Stadium there will be a Q&A session with new club Chairman Dr Marwan Koukash. This part of the evening will be open to members and non-members alike. Admission is free.

We expect this Q&A to be quite popular, so to help us plan the layout of the room and provide a decent number of seats we would be grateful if you could email web@foreverreds.co.uk to let us know you are coming, or how many will be in your group. Thanks.

Limited T-Shirts Remaining

After huge demand at Sunday’s game and Monday’s Forever Reds meeting there are just 18 of the Forever Reds devil motif t-shirts (below) left. If you’re a medium or a large you are in luck because both sizes are still available in the grey version, but just large in the black version. The tee shirts are £10 and if you want to order one you can do it by emailing mjorr@live.co.uk or sending a Facebook message to either Martin Orr or Paul Campbell who can usually be found posting on the Official Salford City Reds Facebook page, the Salford City Stadium Page, or the SOS page.

The bags (£20), as modelled by Jodie below, have now sold out, but a reorder is a possibility, so if you’re interested, again, let the guys know.

Tickets are still available for this Saturday’s Ladies’ Night at Walkabout in Manchester. Many of the Salford City Reds squad will be taking part in the night and there is a chance to bid to win a date with Jordan James. See attached poster for ticket info.

Ed Farish added to Monday’s Meeting

We’re pleased to announce that newly installed Chief Executive Ed Farish has been added to the guests at the Forever Reds meeting on Monday 25th February.

Ed will join Phil Vievers and Paul Highton at the meeting, which will be held in the Fans Bar at Salford City Stadium, with a 7.30 start. All fans are welcome and there will be a bar open.

Sponsor a Try 2013

Forever Reds will once again be running the successful Sponsor a Try Scheme for the 2013 season (yes, we’re aware the first two games have been a bit barren). The idea is that for every try Salford score during the season you pledge your chosen amount to Forever Reds. You have the choice to sponsor tries scored in both home and away games, or home games only. The majority of people choose to donate 50p or £1 per try, however other amounts are also accepted.

As a guide, last year worked out as follows:

£1 per home and away try: £116
50p per home and away try: £58

£1 per home try: £56
50p per home try: £28.

The amount raised was £1141 and we would like to better that this year. The money raised from this year as well as previous years has been used to buy vital physio equipment for the club. as well as providing funds for the club’s academy set up.

To sign up, e mail either kjreik@tiscali.co.uk or web@foreverreds.co.uk with your name, contact number/email address and amount you wish to pledge per try.

You can also sign up at the next Forever Reds meeting on 25th Feb.

Thanks for your support.

Forever Reds Meeting - 25/2

The next Forever Reds supporters meeting will take place in the fans bar at Salford City Stadium on Monday 25th February - 7.30 start. Head coach Phil Vievers and Player Welfare Officer (and all round good guy) Paul Highton will be the guests taking questions on the night.

The meeting is open to all supporters and admission is free.

Forever Reds will be aiming to hold meetings in various parts of the city this year to give as many fans as possible the chance to attend.

New Foundation Website

Forever Reds are aiming to work closer with the Salford City Reds Foundation in future so we thought we would help spread the word about their new website -

www.salfordcityredsfoundation.co.uk

There are still a few tweaks being looked at (e.g. logos, pictures etc) but we’d ask you to take a look at what Salford City Reds gets up to in the local community and forward it on to any parties you think would be interested.

Forever Reds Help Medical Staff

Whilst the financial situation at Salford City Reds remains uncertain, and with the club’s bank account frozen, Forever Reds learned that the club’s physiotherapy and medial staff were running out of medical supplies to help get the teams match fit. Following discussion with Matt Jenkinson, Forever Reds agreed that the Supporters Trust will donate approximately £2000 worth of medical supplies, including stretch bandages, cuffs and rollers to enable players from all the club’s teams continue with pre-season preparation with a minimum of disruption.

Fundraisers such as last summer’s Curry & Quiz night, and the “Sponsor a Try” scheme provided the bulk of the fund for this donation.

Supporters Meeting - 27/12/12

Forever Reds have arranged a meeting for fans who want to discuss what can be done about the current financial situation with Salford City Reds. The aim of the meeting is to bring together people with any of the following: ideas, time, enthusiasm, expertise, (or money!); with the hope of harnessing that into something that can benefit Rugby League in Salford.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 27th December at 7.30pm in the Ice Bar section of Isis Restaurant, Bolton Road (the “Top Road”), M27 8UX.

If you plan to come it would help if you could email foreverreds.chair@gmail.com just so that we can be sure that we have enough space.

If you can’t make the meeting, but have a fundraising idea, or would like to make yourself available in future, please use the same email address.

Fundraising

The financial situation with the club has become better known this week. Forever Reds is committed to safeguarding the future of rugby league in the City of Salford and are co-ordinating fund raising efforts in the hope of being able to find a workable solution to the current problems.

We cannot do this alone, and would encourage any supporters who have any ideas for fundraising, can help with fundraising, or indeed wish to donate to please contact Forever Reds through the foreverreds.chair@gmail.com address.
